Palmer and Pletsch Fitting Course - Pants

Join Legacy Fabrics and Jan, a Palmer and Pletsch certified instructor, and learn how to fit and adjust a paper pattern to your correct size!

Does fit scare you? Think positive. YOU have a perfect body. It is the pattern you
need to change!

Finally, a class that will empower you to be able to fit yourself and create beautiful
clothing. If the back of your pants gap, the front bulges, the waist is too short, or crotch depth too deep, you need this class! If you have a full figure, or find all pants too baggy, this class will give you the confidence to sew your own pants!

We will start by choosing the best size for you, based on your hip
measurement. Once your correct size is determined, we will work together on
learning how to use the Palmer/Pletsch method to make alterations to the paper pattern.

It’s easy; it’s practical; it applies to all pattern companies. Plus it’s nearly measure-free;
no need to draft every design from scratch; no need to make a muslin. Learn to
buy the right size by taking only ONE measurement.

Jan is a certified Palmer/Pletsch tissue fitting and sewing instructor and in this one day class, she will help you achieve a great fitting pair of pants. You’ll learn the skills to work on your own on garments that will flatter your body, no matter your size or shape. Classes are small and allow for personal attention as you work.

The pattern is included in the class. There will be some basic supplies needed for the class, some will be provided, and the others will be sent in an email before the class.

The class will go from 10am-5pm - (it could end sooner, it depends on the number of people in the class)

It is a requirement to have taken the Tops Fitting Course with Jan first, in order to be elligible to take the pants. If you have not taken the Tops, give us a call and we can let you know when the next available date is!

Pattern Used: Butterick 6845

Semi-fitted, tapered pants have waistband, side-front pockets & front mock-fly zipper.

Supplies Needed: Jan will be reaching out to you after you sign up to confirm the materials needed. We (Legacy Fabrics) typically have the tissue pattern paper, the Complete Guide to Fitting book, and the grided cardboard mats (for classroom use) here at the shop!

Class Cancellation Policy: Weather, Unexpected Events, and Travel Tips

Your safety and experience are very important to us. While we will do everything we can to keep classes running as planned, sometimes weather, illness, or unexpected events can cause changes. Here is how we handle those situations:

If We Need to Cancel

If bad weather makes it unsafe to hold the class, or if the instructor is unable to attend because of unforeseen circumstances, we will notify you as soon as possible, usually at least 24 hours before the class starts. In these situations, the class will be rescheduled. You’ll have a couple options if we need to cancel:  join the rescheduled class, or get a full refund.

If you need to Cancel

Refunds are available until 24 hours before the class. If possible, we will try to reschedule the class at a different date and time to get you in!
