Organ Needles - Top Stitch 5pk

These Organ Top Stitch needles are used when top stitching fabrics with a slightly heavier thread. They have a larger eye than a normal needle, while keeping the shaft and point the same size. Normal sewing thread is usually about a 50 weight, and if you are using a heavier thread, (40W and up), and are having thread breakage, unraveling, or tension issues, then it's probably a sign that you need a larger eye for the thread to pass through. There are five size 90/14 needles which would be used on medium weight fabrics such as a few layers of cotton, quilted fabric, or medium weight denim. These needles can also be helpful for people who sew at high speeds and get lots of thread breakage from that - especially high speed quilting on domestic sewing machines.
