Magnetic Seam Gauge

Magnetic seam gauges are incredibly helpful for holding a straight line while sewing. The magnet sticks to your machine, (most commonly the needle plate), so that the edge of your fabric is always the same distance away from your needle. Set it at a 1/4 inch if you're quilting, or 5/8 inch for garments (or whatever your pattern tells you too).

*Note: these are not advised to use with computerized sewing machines because the magnetic field messes with the computer boards.
