The Hobo Bag - Sewing Class

Step into the crazy (and addictive) world of bag making with our Hobo Bag Class!

Making your own bag or purse can be hugely rewarding because they are fun, easily broken down into a series of small steps, offer so much personalization, and are so much cheaper than a costly designer brand name! These projects can seem intimidating - especially working with new materials like vinyl, leather, and canvas - but that's where we are here to help! We walk you through the entire process from selecting the right fabric, getting it interfaced correctly, to making sure the steps are easy to understand and accomplish! This Hobo Bag pattern is very simple to sew; there are no zippers, and it doesn't take a magic show to set in the lining! This will give you the chance to become comfortable working with these new materials and the ability to walk out with a finished bag!

It can be made in multiple types of fabrics, it just depends on the style you are going for! Select one of our patterned vinyls for a fun, high end look, a KC themed canvas for the perfect bag for the next game or tailgate, or even a boucle for a preppy designer look! We suggest using a fabric with more structure to it for increased support and abrasion resistance.

For this class, everything is provided! We have the machines, fabric, hardware, interfacing, and the pattern! Feel free to bring your own machine if you would rather sew with it, just let us know and we will make sure it has it's own table space!

Since this is an all day class, we will have a 30 minute lunch break about halfway through. We will have some snacks provided, but please bring your own lunch! Or we have restaurants nearby where you could pick something up!

We ask that the minimum age is 8 years old - if you have a kiddo younger we are happy to teach them in a private lesson! Just contact us to learn more!
