Join us on October 26th from 10am-1pm (sold out) or December 7th from 10am-1pm to make your own wrapped journal!

Whether it’s for recording your daily thoughts, a sketch pad, or project ideas for the future, we can all use a journal. And what would be better than a journal you have made yourself. Or maybe as a gift for another. Perfect to tuck into a pocket, purse, or backpack; this little book will be distinctly your own.

This hands-on workshop will lead you step by step through the book making process. We’ll be making a 6” x 4 ½” journal with 72 pages of 80lb drawing paper. Each group of pages will be wrapped in origami paper and covered in your choice of leather, KraftTex, or cork fabric. The closure will also be your choice and can be a button and bead tie or a metal button stud. In the process you will learn basic book making skills that can aid you in making books on your own. A fun three hours will be had by all.

Open to all skill levels. This is a class for adults and young people, not appropriate for young children. Sharp objects will be involved.

Supplies:

All specialty book making supplies and tools will be provided, but the vinyl or leather for the cover will be available for purchase and is not included in class cost.

Students can purchase buttons for the front from Legacy Fabrics, or they may wish to bring their own buttons and beads to use on their book.
