Beginner's Sewing Level 1

Easy to Sew Pillowcase

Join us for a four part series to learn how to sew! In these sessions we will cover material that will get you from holding a needle and thread for the first time, to having completed your first project sewn on a machine.

In these lessons we will start with basic sewing terminology and handstitches - including sewing on a button. From there we will get into machine operation and basic seam types. All the while we will be learning all about different types of fabric and their best uses in garments and projects. By the last class we will have made our first sewing project, an Easy to Sew Pillowcase, using all the skills we have learned!

The classes will be on Thursday evenings from 5pm-7pm and start at the beginning of the month. The next starting date for classes is January 2nd, 2025. We will meet on the Thursdays of January 2nd, 9th, 16th, and 23rd. Once full it will be marked as out of stock. We also like to keep class sizes small so we have a total of 8 spots per class series.

Additionally, during these classes, we will provide a binder with sheets so that our students have examples of what they have accomplished. This way, as they continue to sew, they can look back at what they have learned in order to keep achieving more!

All supplies and fabrics for the projects and classes are provided for and are covered in the class cost. We also provide the sewing machines to use.

However, if you would like your own supplies and tools for use at home, there is an optional Basic Sewing Kit you can add on to your classes cost. Also, if you have your own machine that you would like to sew on, you are more than welcome to bring it. Just let us know you are using your own, so we can keep the table space clear for you!
