Apparel Sewing Level 1
Join us for a four part series to learn how to sew your first garment! During these sessions we will take our first step to having a handmade wardrobe. The skills acquired during this class will not only help you to complete this project, but many more.
In these lessons we will begin with how to read a sewing pattern and measure ourselves accurately. After that we will learn about the importance of cutting layouts and grainlines. From there we will step into more complex seam types and practice more sewing techniques. By the end we will have completed our very first wearable, handmade garment! Note: there may be homework leftover from class that will require the use of a sewing machine.
The classes will be on Thursday evenings from 5pm-7pm and start at the beginning of the month. The next starting date and sign up for classes is 01/30/2025 and will run through 02/27/2025 (taking 02/13/25 off because we are hosting a bra sewing camp with Gigi's Bra Supply). Once full it will be marked as out of stock. We also like to keep class sizes small, so we have a total of 8 spots per class series.
Additionally, during these classes, we will provide a binder with sheets so that our students have examples of what they have learned so that as they continue to learn they can continually build upon what they have and reflect back at what they have learned.
All supplies for the projects and classes are provided for and are covered in the class cost. We also provide the sewing machines to use. Please note that some select fabrics may be an extra cost.
