They have a wonderfully slick hand, don't create static, and are breathable similar to a silk lining. Bemberg is made out of Cuprammonium Rayon and is made and woven in Japan. It is incredibly lightweight and cool to the touch. When you're sewing with a wool, silk, cotton, or linen outer fabric, it doesn't make sense to then use a polyester lining and stop all the breathable properties. Bemberg is also less expensive than silk and works just as well! It also contains properties that resist static cling for a more comfortable fit and to make it easier to put on.
